CORONAVIRUS

The SPANISH FLU, which caused perhaps 50 million deaths from 1918 to 1920 – over twice the number of deaths of the Great War – didn’t start in Spain. Spain was neutral in WW1 and had no cause to be secretive about its effect. Newspapers reported the grave illness of King Alfonso XIII, and the devastation it was causing; as the only major country to do so the pandemic became known as the ‘Spanish Flu’. Measures taken to prevent its spread, as in the poster above, are being repeated today.

BECAUSE OF THE CURRENT PANDEMIC ALL BIRD BATTLEFIELD TOURS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.
