General

What is included in a BIRD BATTLEFIELD TOUR?

Normally, unless otherwise stated, the following are included: private coach or mini-bus for entire tour; accommodation, either single or double room; all meals and wine at meals; refreshments excluding spirits; museum entrance; special bound document produced for the tour; guiding.

You are also responsible for any charges of a personal nature such as: telephone/fax, drinks from mini-bar or room service, laundry, excess baggage.

What is the average size of a tour group?

From 4 to 16 people, but usually around 8, which is an easier number for travel, restaurants, chat, etc.

What sort of people go on your tours?

All sorts, enthusiasts, people keen to learn, some who know nothing about military history, others who know a lot… men and women, old and young, teetotallers and imbibers… from all walks… most are friends, and friends of friends, who come back for more.

Is Channel crossing by ferry or via the Channel Tunnel?

Always ferry. ‘If a man has anything in him, a sea trip will bring it out!!’ [Donald McGill]. Don’t worry, ferry crossings are quick and usually very calm.

Will I be lectured to death?

No… but you will eat and drink well.

Will I be able to disappear in the evening if I want to be alone?

By all means.
