D-DAY BEACHES and the BATTLE OF NORMANDY

In mid-June Mike and David Simmons accompanied us on a tour of the D-DAY BEACHES and the BATTLE OF NORMANDY. Pictured (photo by DS) is the American cemetery above Omaha Beach, Normandy. Here lie brothers Quentin Roosevelt (shot down in WW1) and Gen. Theodore Roosevelt Jr (Medal of Honour), sons of President Teddy Roosevelt. Theodore (also a WW1 veteran) died of a heart attack six weeks after leading his men on to Utah Beach.
